The new "improved" version of the lotion that recently hit store shelves is not nearly as nice as the old version! I was concerned when Johnson's announced that they were changing their lotions and shampoos/washes, and I was right to be concerned. The very first time I pumped the lotion into my hand (even before spreading it on my body), I noticed a major difference in the consistency. The old version was thick and creamy...this came out watery and runny feeling. Sure enough, when actually using it on my body, it didn't spread nearly as well and it doesn't leave my skin feeling moisturized at all. Also, I dislike the new smell. While it's not terrible, it's not nearly as pleasant smelling as the old version of the lotion.
What I really don't understand is that Johnson's says that they've changed their lotion to make it more "natural" (i.e. paraben-free, pthalate-free, and dye free). However, their old lotion had none of those things already!
I'm super bummed as not only do I use this lotion after showers and baths, but I also use it on my toddler and had planned to use it on my new baby that is due in a couple of months. Now, I will be searching for something new. We have about half a bottle of the old lotion in my toddler's room, but once that runs out, we will be switching brands unless Johnson's switches back to their old formula.
No, I would not recommend this product
