Moms are so busy caring for their families that inevitably good intentions fall off the list. When it comes to recycling – nearly six in 10 moms wish they remembered to recycle more often.* But life gets in the way! Moms say not having enough time or a convenient bin or simply forgetting are the main reasons they don’t recycle. We completely understand. To help you care for the planet the way you care for your family, we’ve compiled a helpful list of ways that you can recycle more in the bathroom.
1. Pick up a bin! Sixty percent of moms report that they would be more likely to recycle bathroom products if they had a recycling bin located there. For a limited time, you can get a free Care To Recycle® recycling bin with the purchase of 2 AVEENO® or NEUTROGENA® products, exclusively at CVS.com/CareToRecycle. Or, treat yourself to a pretty wicker basket to stash your recyclables!
2. Involve your kids with fun, DIY activities! Involving your kids in home activities like recycling is a win-win. Nearly three in four moms (74 percent) agree that involving their kids in their to-do lists helps them get more done. Make a fun recycling chart –when kids remember to recycle a bathroom product, they earn an earth-friendly prize like a beach picnic or backyard camping night. Or, make a cute, up-cycled planter out of an old shampoo bottle. Check out www.CareToRecycle.com for more crafty ideas to get your family excited about recycling.
3. Create friendly reminders! We know how easy it is for even the simplest tasks to fall off a to-do list. Create gentle reminders around the house so you, and others, don’t forget. Place a pretty, framed note on your vanity counter or tape a colorful reminder on your mirror. These prompts won’t just be read by your family but by visiting friends and neighbors too! Get the kids involved by letting them make their own reminders with personal touches.
